Hi Guys,
My car gave me a Trans Prog after I had done a few things. I've been searching and reading all morning, but I wanted to get some ideas on how to troubleshoot this.
Here's the situation:
This is a project car and doesn't get driven much and I've been fixing stuff as I go. The transmission has always whined a bit until it warms up but seemed to shift OK and I didn't notice any slippage. Recently the traction control icon (the ones that shows if you turn traction control off) has been showing but it still seemed to be working OK and I just added it to my list of things to fix. Last weekend I need to polish some wheels and I figured I would just jack one side of the rear up and let it spin freely while I polish it. Seemed to work fine. I let it down and back it into the garage. As I start to walk away I can hear a buzzing sound. I track it down to the DME or possibly the DME relay or at least something close to that location. I disconnect the DME and the buzzing stops. I plug it back in and it seems OK so I go inside and call it night. Come out the next day to pull it out and get the transprog message. I am hoping that having one wheel spinning confused the traction control and threw a code that caused the transprog. Maybe something else?
I plugged in my Peak tool buy it showed no codes. Is there a way to access all the codes or clear the codes in the transmission computer?
Any ideas on what else to check?
Thanks, Eric
