My rearview mirror looks like it's melting and it doesn't work well at all. I know it's supposed to be an auto-dimming, but obviously there is something wrong.
I've had the car garaged since new and the car only has 35,000 miles on it so I'm surprised to have a problem like this. I saw this post on youtube so apparently it's a common problem

Am I best off bringing it to an auto repair place, ordering a new mirror, or bringing it to my local BMW dealer?
Also, I have a picture of the mirror on my computer, but can't figure out how to attach it to this post.
