AL/Bosch projectors don't match!

So I picked my car (2001 M3 coupe) up from the body shop after getting nailed by a mud flap, long story short, new AL headlight was installed. Instantly I notice my projectors don't match. My Bosch (OEM) projector has a light frosted look and has for the entire history of me having the car. Now the new projector focusing lens is clear. Not crystal clear, but not opaque like my Bosch.

So my confusion is why are they so different when AL is Bosch??? Isn't it?

I bought my car used, but only a few years old so I don't think the frosted look is any kind of burn out or build up. My wrecked light had the same amount of frost too. Now I would have no problem switching out the projectors however the shop threw my f***ing headlight away.

Here are my questions: opinions please!!!

Will the new AL focusing lens fog up and look the same after a while (read an unreliable post that said it would)?
Should I through a huge fit and have the shop replace the old headlight with an AL even though that wasn't part of the wreck? (Responsible party insurance is covering it)
Is there any way to replace the lens in the Bosch to match without having to replace both?

Details: Xenon self leveling, not Bi-Xenon.
