On a recent check I had the mechanic advised me about engine oil leak around sump and around alternator. I am not really sure if its leaking from sump or its simply the leak from top that's collected around sump.
I read quite a few articles for DIY and understand its a PITA work to change the alternator gasket. I have searched for BMW Parts but cannot seem to find the alternator gasket. The only thing I can find are two gaskets (11427537293, 11427525335) for oil filter housing.
Can anyone advise if this alternator oil seal is applicable for my car or if the leak is actually due to oil filter housing ?
I got a 2006 E61 530i Touring (VIN: WBANL75030CF97002).
