Custom M62TU exhaust incl Evolve headers, stock cats, and quad tips w/cutout (pics)

My header journey is now complete, so it's time to move on to the next phase (phase 43 if I am counting correctly) of the super wagon build. Not quite RVAE34 super, but super enough for my family car and daily driver.

My first step was to order parts:

1 - Vibrant Street Power Oval Muffler 5x9x15, no tips, p/n 1102
1 - Vibrant Ultra Quiet 3" resonator, p/n 1142
2 - Magnaflow smooth transition Y-pipes - dual 2.5" into single 3", p/n 10778
1 - Quick Time Performance 2.5" cutout
1 - Quick Time Performance Y-pipe
1 - Quick Time Performance wireless controller
1 - Used M5 rear M-tech lower diffuser
2 - Black chrome dual 3" rear exhaust tips, staggered

Next I removed the factory touring rear M-tech diffuser and re-painted the used M5 diffuser I had purchased into matte black to match what I had before (may consider painting it in Sapphire Black to match the car - don't know yet)

Starts off looking like this:

In progress painting of the M5 diffuser:

Comparing the new black chrome dual tips to the Magnaflow tips (meant to emulate stock M5 exhaust) that are on my M5 just for grins:

M5 diffuser mounted (yes, I know the Magnaflow is not centered - I already had trouble getting it where it is - it will be gone soon so I had to just get it far enough right to avoid touching the diffuser. The cutout on the touring M-tech rear is further left than the M5 M-tech rear):

Tomorrow, my longer O2 sensors will be here and I'll get those installed. Thursday is my appointment at the exhaust shop to get everything welded in place.

Coming soon - a diagram of the plan for all the goofballs who can't figure it out :)
