yeah so the on going saga
this post needs pics i will fix that soon
so after fixing both latches and repairing inner and outer thanks to some parts from a old 528e parts car and this forum i found i was missing several intregal parts and some parts needed replacement after they broke to my careful ministrations
i found i could purchase replacements from BMW Bridgewater
i waited two weeks and they showed up
the key batt and u retainer were right but the passenger side full cylinder key combo and the cylinder repair kit were not
the passenger side cylinder did not mate properly with the central locking plate? so i had to remove it just to finish the job for now
the drivers side just needed the cylinder but they sent a passenger repair....
i called up and the guy told me these were the right parts and it was my issue....
so i ordered a full drivers replacement but i fear that this will not mate up to that central locking plate either...
they seem backwards
the ones on the car have locking tabs opposite to the ones on the replacement and since that is the case you cant get the u clip to engage and hole it in the door
besides that even if i did the one plastic arm wouldnt engage the flap contact to unlock the doors but it unlocks the passenger door manual like normal....
has anyone run into the replacements being backwards?
i checked with both BMW guys and they both pointed to the same set of schematics for this VIN
im confused
im guessing at this point at sometime down the road i will have to buy the new central locking plates hoping they will work but as i said even with the right plate is doesnt look like theywill make the passenger lock work with central locking
