Cold started her up yesterday and heard this awful sound, to the point where I thought my timing chain guides went (not a great moment.) SES light came on and eventually I figured out that the noise had to do with the secondary air pump and cleared the codes to see what happens. Fast forward to last night and I smelled it burning a bit when I turned the car off, but no codes.
This morning, the same thing happens: SES and noise.
Is this as obvious as it seems? Do I need a new pump?
