So I had my Roadstars refinished yesterday by a very reputable wheel shop. When I picked them up today, the surface had many imperfections the way a painted wheel would look if the surface wasn't cleaned. I spoke to a manager who said this is due to the poor aluminum quality that BMW used back then. They can't apply some phosphorous layer than was originally used so when baked the aluminum reacts and causes these pores. Is that true? He said that he's happy to redo the wheels even then they will come out with imperfections due to the baking process.
