Trailer hitch for E93 335i convertible

I made the mistake of buying my 2005 330ci convertible without realizing it wouldn't take a trailer hitch, which I need for a bike rack and cargo carrier. Love the 330ci but need more room and a hitch, so I've been planning to trade it in for a 335i convertible. Have test-driven the 335i and love it, but the trunk is so tiny it clearly needs a hitch. Now I'm finding I can't put a hitch on an E93 either??! I see lots of opinions online but few actual facts. The most factual post I found was by a tech at etrailer.com who says nope, can't find one. I realize it may be possible to get a custom hitch, but I want to know for sure. Has anyone actually gotten a workable hitch on their E93? I would really appreciate hearing from anyone with actual experience - good or bad!
