Trunklid open fault after PDR and new rear bumper gap

Hey guys.

Recently was rear ended at stoplight by a young girl ticketed for distracted driving. Not much damage, but her insurance paid for a new bumper. Long story short, it happened on the weekend before my car was scheduled to be at body shop anyways for rock chip repair on the front end and pdr near the fuel door.

I picked up my car after hours when complete, and right away fault on dash said trunklid open. I checked trunklid, it was shut. I pressed button in footwell, didn't work. Pulled out the keys, opened trunk manually and set trunklid down for soft close and that didn't work either.

My 1st question is, where/how do I start troubleshooting this or what could have possibly happened? (I'm assuming pdr guy got access to dent near fuel door from the battery compartment)

My 2nd question is, the new rear bumper that was painted and installed has a gap all the way around wheel well to wheel well that isn't really noticeable but bothers me. Can it be adjusted or re-installed? I have never had rear end apart, so sorry if this is an easy question. I'm not sure if he used an aftermarket bumper or not, I know State Farm paid for an new OE one tho.

I know I should contact my paint guy, but I really don't want to bother him if I'm able to do the work. He did a fantastic paint job on the front.
