Very Well Hidden Starter Relay - e36 in pieces looking for this thing.

The Bentley Manual states that the Starter Relay is "Behind Left Footwell Speaker Grill"
This is on a 1997 318i e36 sedan with automatic tranny. My other manuals don't mention this relay at all, Pelikan calls it a Starter Interlock Relay and that it's only used on the Automatics, and that I should find it under the drivers side dash. They run about $80. I have removed the bottom of the drivers side dash, removed the speaker, removed the dead pedal, pulled back carpet, spent hours on my back digging under the dash. I have found the alarm crash relay and another small relay, but the big yellow 9 pin relay for the starter is so well hidden that I'm about to lose my mind. I've spent days on the internet reading and looking at photos to no avail, this really shouldn't be this hard!
Can anyone clue me in on where to find this thing? Please?
