ABS/DSC module continuous run and no connect

Installed "new" used MK60 ABS/DSC module in my 02 330CIC. As soon as I reconnected the battery the module pump ran continuously (only shut off when I disconnected the battery), and the speedo started jumping around. Also the vert down button started flashing. I could not connect to C110 or K+Dcan. Battery voltage was 13V


I disconnected the battery, checked the fuses (all good), disconnected the module and checked the plug for contamination. I again connected the battery, the pump now only ran when the ignition was turned on, everything else was the same.


I'm guessing a bad unit. The seller has a return warranty. I wanted to see if I was missing something before I contact him for a refund.
