Evening all!
I made the mistake of trying to work on my E34 Touring sunroof today. PO had it botched all to heck, and spent the better part of the afternoon removing the interior and trying to get it working.
I got close, and it *mostly* works, but for now I want to get it closed tightly and call it good :)
Which brings me to one last part I can't ID what it is on the REALOEM diagram (because I only have one on one side, the other side is broken) and I'm not exactly sure how it fits on the rail.
It's a long plastic piece with a rubber bumper on the rear part of the front sunroof rail. It seems to slide into the channel, but I'm not sure how it's secured. It has a hole in it, so it looks like it's supposed to be secured by a silver pin but I tried pushing the pin in and it won't budge. So I'm not sure how to secure this piece. I assume it's there to prevent the upper sunroof from scratching the bottom one when they pass over each other.
Lastly, there is a sliding part on the passenger side that moves with the REAR sunroof. It has a bump on it with a pin. Not sure what that's supposed to do, or if it's secured to anything.
