Got another E38, but a weird problem

Hi friends,
I wasn't planning on buying another E38 when I already had one but I just couldn't pass a black on black E38 with a little over 40k miles at a superb deal.

The car was going to be auctioned from a BMW dealer due to a few simple -to me- issues, such as a bad ABS module, the driver's seat and the steering wheel adjustments not functioning, valve cover leak, soft close trunk not functioning and a few other simple things according to what I was told.

First of all I can tell that the previous owner which was also the first and the only owner of this car was a careless one. The motor oil, the cabin filters, the air filter were filthy as they get and I don't even want to get into the beautiful black interior that was in... Not so good shape. But the Leatherique Rejuvenator Oil and the Leatherique Pristine Clean done it's miracle once again. However very surprisingly this car is the first M62TU car that I have witnessed that does not have the usual diesel like VANOS noise at idle. Even my old '01 that I got at around 50k miles had this noise which pushed me to sell it just because of that irritating noise and that was a meticulously maintained car before me. So I am indeed very surprised about this.

Back to my original intention about the thread. The car is super smooth, solid and powerful at cruising RPMs below 3K but it hesitates and doesn't want to go over 3.5K RPM when it is pushed. The first two things that came into my mind were the MAF and the CPS but I want to hear from someone that experienced a similar issue and can chime in on this before I take any action. Thanks in advance.
