Brand new owner of a 2004 BMW Z4. Never been a car guy before but never had a reason to be one - now with my new Z4, I have a reason to be - and I actually have a little bit of time for a nice car. I want to learn as much about car maintenance as I can, and it seems that most of my questions can be solved with online lists and YouTube videos.
However, I have one thing I can't seem to find - how to put on snow tires, which are a necessity here in Ohio. The owner's manual says to go to a BMW dealer to do this - which sounds expensive and possibly unnecessary. My wife's best friend's husband has a BMW and changed out his tires himself, so I know it can be done.
Am I crazy for wanting to put my own tires on? Or is this doable, and if so, where do I begin besides having this guy help me? I realize I'm not sharp with cars, but I pick up things I know almost nothing about all the time so I have no doubt I can learn.
