Well i was teetering back and forth about deciding to buy a set of High Gloss Black interior trim, but seeing how many sets were in sub-optimal condition still commanding $300+, decided against it. Ultimately i chose to rattle can the trim and see if i could achieve a high gloss finish, using some automotive paint. The whole process (including removal/re-install, prep, painting, wet sanding/buffing) put me somewhere in the 10-14 hour range, taking much longer than vinyl wrap, and frankly more than i ever though was going to be required. I ended up getting pretty picky wanting to remove most orange peel, and scratches, also choosing against using my random orbital buffer to polish the trim after wet sand. Here are the results.
