K+DCAN Utility 2.0

Dear all,

I have a BMW 2007/06 e87 with D-CAN interface. I am using a K+DCAN INPA cable which has a transparent housing and green PCB with Pin 7 + 8 not bridged.

When I connect the cable to my car an orange LED is activated. I then try to set the D-CAN mode with "K+DCAN Utility 2.0" but I get the following error:
"Setting Mode '500 kbit/s D-CAN & PT-CAN' ... Error: Echo K-line"

Why does it even try to do an echo on the K-line when I try to switch to D-CAN? Seems like a bug but this software has been used by many coders...

In order to debug I analysed all pins of the ODB2 connector. No activity on any lines except for the K-Line (Pin 7 on my cable). I only see 1 messages on the bus. I assume it tries to echo but gets no response so the error message make sense. This however proves that the communication to the FT232RL chip is working.

EDIABAS is not working but I guess that is understandable since I can't set my cable in D-CAN mode.

Any ideas how I could solve this?
