M54B25 options? What kind of power on stock motor? built motor?

So, After getting the BMW bug (see sig) The none BMW hatchback needs to go.
The new BMW wagons kind of suck (turbo 4 auto :| )

So looking at the E46 series wagons... though those seem to only show up as a M54B25.....

So is it worth it to Boost the M54B25? I did a fair amount of searching and came up pretty short...

Would like to try and get 300-400whp with as little lag, and quickest spooling possible.

Other options would be motor swap, Or building the M54 into a B30 etc... And than adding boost!
