Suspension overhaul qupte

Hello new to bimmerforums but had a question about a quote I received so basically my whole suspension needs to be replaced on my e36 98 318i and was wondering if this quote I got is reasonable price and if I should go through with it? Here's the full email I recieved with estimate

Hi Nathan,

Your E36 pretty much needs everything suspension-related. This means front control arms/ball joints and bushings, front struts/mounts, and tie rod ends.
At the rear, we would replace the shocks/mounts and the rear trailing arm bushings.

The labor to do all of this would be $1,120, plus $140 for alignment.

The parts would be $750 for the control arms, bushings, and tie rod ends and strut/shock mounts.

The cost of the struts/shocks depends on what kind you choose. The stock Sachs struts are $275 each, rear shocks $150 each, so $850 total.

Upgraded Bilstein HD struts are $400 each, and the rear shocks are $200 each. These shocks also allow for lowering springs, which would cost not extra labor to install, and a spring kit is about $250.

Or, we could order you an H&R spring/shock kit from tire rack, which is a decent quality kit, and is a good price:

Stay away from the cheap crappy EBay coilover kits, they are no good!!!!

So, figure $2,700-$3,500 depending on the shocks. If you are looking for a decent performance upgrade, I’d recommend the H&R kit above. Combined with fresh M3 bushings and suspension components, the handling would be awesome.

Anyway, let me know if you have any questions, or if you would like an itemized estimate.
