TC removal on 325ix.

I am rebuilding the shifter on my 1991 325ix. How do I get the transfer case off? I can get to the 4 main bolts. I already loosened them. But how do I remove the guibo bolts in between the Tc and tranny?
:( Or can I remove shifter with the Tc in place?
