OK so I switched from standard to sport seats in my Dakar Z3. Only problem is the seats were from a late 2000 and mine is an earlier 2000 so the wiring was different. We swapped the seat harnesses so it wasn't that much of a problem, however the heated seat circuit is different. On the new sport seats, the lower cushion has 1 connector, and the upper seat has 1 connector (which had to be cut). That doesn't matter anyway since the car end of the connector is different. My question is, the old seat lower heating element had 2 wires going into it??? does that mean there were 2 heating elements in it? or an in and an out?
I looked up what the seat heating element looks like in a later model car, and it shows the same branch off connector with the 2 plugs, yet I can't find the extra connector on my seats??? very confused as to how it works. I know polarity doesn't matter, but???
