I've been looking for an E34 or E39 touring for a daily driver, and the E34s I've looked at, while they run and drive, would require pretty substantial cosmetic and mechanical work to get them up to what I consider a reasonable standard. Is it feasible to redo such a car without being able to put it on a lift or leave it unused for months while working on it? Are parts (things like door cards, interior trim, LED displays, touring-specific suspension parts, etc.) readily available? What else should I be thinking about before I consider something like this?
