May sound odd but I'd like to connect my car phone and actually use it

My used E38 came with a car phone installed. I have never used a car phone in my life, and I really think it could be fun using the old technology in the age of smartphones. I just want the experience of it. :)

Never mind... I've just found that there is nothing I can do to revive the car phone for an actual use other than dialing 911 for emergency.
