A months long, if not year long, pursuit of a new car put me in the seat of a 540 wagon yesterday. The search has been a fun yet painful road, but I'm inclined to believe the 540 wagon is the car for me at this point.
If you have a half hour to kill, have a read. Just kidding, I can't post URLs. Hmmm. Try going to goo . gl /gKvQT7
I'm wondering what might be out there that hasn't yet been formally published for sale. I don't think I'm particular about the year. While the '03 is a given, the '99 I drove yesterday was perfectly tight, but has a sordid past. I have access to a shop that will sort out the right car, if it needs some sorting, if it's worth sorting. But I'm certainly willing to, and would prefer to, pay a reasonable price for a pedigree. Bear in mind that I will more than likely have to assume a shipping cost.
I prefer stock; I'm just going to drive this 5 days a week, 80mi per day down a highway and back, year round on New Hampshire roads. It should have a remaining lifespan of at least 2 years.
Thanks for your timeslice.
