I've just finished putting a rebuilt engine in a 1995 325i convertible (WBABJ6322SJD38275), but when I turn the key to start, nothing happens. The lights come on, windows go up and down, but no crank, no fuel pump noise, and no click from the engine compartment. The battery with the charger on it is putting out 13 Volts, and I'm getting similar voltages at the hot pins on the main relay and the fuel pump relay. The wires at the fuel pump are getting no voltage when the key is in the run position. Should I check the ignition? Although I thought a bad ignition or security system wouldnt let the windows and such work.
Should I just blindly replace relays? Is it possible to test the DME? Please help me figure out where to go from here.
P.S. I have had the starter checked out and it seems to be fine.
