E34 interior fun, questions and mysteries

I would like to know if any other generation or series of BMW seat's will cross over and fit into my 1989 525i I've been wanting to put in e36 or e39 seats to bring a modern touch to the cruiser. I'd also like to know if the door cards from other generations or series would fit and what kind of customization it might take to pull it off, thanks in advance, I've been dwelling on this for some time and I've learned its better to ask first
