I have a beautiful 318i 1994.
When I make the adjustments to bring heat from the heater core into the car's interior the air stays cool. But when I do a hard excelleration suddenly hot air comes into the car. When I stop at a red light an idle for a couple of minutes cool air comes in. When I accelerate away from the light hot air comes into the car interior.
Could the heated core be plugged and the extra water pressure, (if that's what happens), circulating during acceleration force hot water into the somewhat plugged heater core?
Some guy who claimed to be a bimmer expert said it's not the heater core it's to do with the 'activators?' mounted near where the hoses go into the heater core on the firewall.
Any expert advice is greatly appreciated.
