I've acquired a M10b20 and was thinking about putting it in my E21, and why not with a turbo .
I've read a lot of informations about it, so much that I'm actually lost !
The m10b20 that I own will have a basic rebuild ( pistons rings, connecting rods bearing etc.. ), but I do also own a m10b18 ( from a e30 ), with 50 000 miles on it, I 've read that the b18 head may be better than the b20 for a turbo build , but my B20 engine has this kind of pistons with compression of 8.3:1 which is not that bad for a turbo build ( 150 -160 HP Is enough power to me so it won't have a lot of pressure ! ) :
So basically, I'm going to use the intake manifold of the m10b18, maybe the head, convert the m10b20 to injection, make a classic turbo build, but one of my other question would be concerning the fuel injection control, I need a custom ECU, like megasquirt, but there is maybe a better option ? and will the original b18 ditributor ignition be good enough for the build ?
