I like to try to not have to go back and redo things so I would like any pointers and tips from folks that have done this.
I have a 92 325i obd1 S52 that dropped a valve...... again. I am moving on to swapping in an S54. Car is used for NASA TT and hopefully next year some GTS racing.
Engine is on stand and getting new rod bearings w/ arp bolts, vanos rebuild, new cam gear bolts, modified vanos oil pump, new oem water pump and lower t-stat.
Any other things that should be modified or replaced for reliability?
Other things that I need to figure out:
Engine Wire harness,buy pre made or use stock harness currently on the engine.
DME, Get reflashed to run with out ews and other inputs that are not being used.
Drive by wire, keep or install cable?
