I'm trying to determine if my throwout bearing and/or input shaft bearing are making noise. I can hear a noise that sounds like an old wheel bearing spinning while sitting in neutral (it's barely noticeable), foot up off the clutch. Clutch in and the noise goes away completely. Car can be cold or warmed up and the noise persists with my foot off the clutch. I was told that one or the other will make noise when the clutch is engaged and when it's not. I think it's the input shaft bearing making the noise, someone said that's the case when your foot is off the clutch in neutral but I wanted to get some more input before I decide what's next. Thanks
Throwout bearing or input shaft bearing noise?
