as the title suggests i am looking only to put a used transmission in my car which is a 1998 740i
the car does the common bang into gear after stalling around 1800-2000rpm then greeted by "trans fail safe program" and has a slow takeoff which seems like 4th gear.
previous owner already went through changing fluid and filter and found significant pieces of material in the pan.
i know it has the 5hp-24 for sure.. but i am a bit confused as to which i should purchase... their is a 740il in memphis that someone is selling the transmission out of that i am unlikely to find out any other specifics of the car because it is a salvage yard.
